Media Activism & Alternative Media workshop

Sat Sept 29th, 2:30-5:15pm at the OPIRG-Carleton office at Carleton University (room 326, Unicentre building) … part of DisOrientation: Cultures of Resistance week (free event, open to all)

How can we engage with media in working towards a better world? How can we build ‘our media’ to be stronger and more effective in reaching others who are also looking for postive change? What does media activism look like?

As Robert McChesney states:

“regardless of what a progressive group’s first issue of importance is, its second issue should be media and communication, because so long as the media are in corporate hands, the task of social change will be vastly more difficult, if not impossible, across the board.”

This will be a participatory workshop.
