The Icarus Project: radical peer-based mental wellness organizing
Facilitated by Melissa, Anna and Greg

Saturday March 9th, 1:30-2:30pm
U of Ottawa, University Centre UCU room 205
advance registration required by March 6th

We will present the Icarus Project and give information about its mission, vision and community. We will show a short segment of a documentary entitled Crooked Beauty, which would be followed by a discussion and participator activity.

We aim to give participants a feel of the Icarus Project community; we will therefore facilitate a discussion around the experience of madness and talk about alternative methods which lead to well being.

Our goal is to plants the seeds for eventually forming an Icarus Project grassroots community in Ottawa.

The two handouts we will have for the workshop are the Icarus Friends Make the Best Medicine booklet as well as a short flyer on radical mental health that is one section of the Mindful Occupation: Rising Up Without Burning Out booklet.
